Vocational training to the rural poor women:

The rural economy is fully based on agricultural industries in India especially in Thanjavur District. In recent years, the agricultural industry in Thanjavur does not support the livelihood of the rural people. This is because of the monsoon failure. Therefore, the livelihood of the poor labour sector gets affected. Hence with a with  a view to  develop  the skills of the rural  educated, unemployed  women  and  further  to gear  their income through  starting self-employment, We have established  a center for vocational training  in many trades.  The poor and marginal women are our trainees. The selected women were undergone both practical and theoretical training for in tailoring, jute making and other marketable and profitable trades.

Reproductive and child Health Prog:

The knowledge on RH factors is very less among the rural women and girls. Hence to increase the anemia correction of ANC Mothers and adolescent girls and to create awareness on nutrition and anemia among women in SHG from we conducted the program with the strategy of meeting of ANC mothers and adolescent girls, distribution of IEC, Counseling and Referral after house visit one to one contact. Assured safe delivery, Anemia correction, Hospital Delivery, Detection of Early marriage awareness on STI/RTI and Function of Reproductive organs are the area we geared awareness among the women and girls. Finally we conducted screening of women ANC and girls. The severe cases referred to further medical management whereas the Mild and Moderate cases were given counseling services. Almost all the participants were distributed IEC.

Bio diversity Prog  :                                           

Agricultural is the base for the rural Indian Community. In recent years there is heavy loss in agricultural because in put cost hikes every year. Soil is not fertile because heavy input of chemical fertilizer and the lack of knowledge among farmers on poly crop management. Further, there is no knowledge among farmers about the traditional alternative agricultural technology and formula of bio diversity. Hence with the view to promote organic farming among farmers, we organised this bio diversity program.    The activity we entertain is selection of small farmers   Formation of master farmers group, Indoor training to input organic technology and Demo. We discuss with the farmers on weed Management, seed Management Poly crop cultivation Water Management, Soil conservation and Pest control technology

Program on Domestic violence against women:  Due to gender bias and other cultural practices, the women populations are secondarily treated. In family and other social standard institutions, they are wickedly treated and their rights are denied. In fact, the women populations are not fully aware about their rights and hence many more violence practiced on them. Therefore to sensitize the women populations on their basic rights and to prepare the women for protecting their rights in the community, we conducted the Van propagation campaign in villages and in various part of the village. The van campaign reaches the general mass and communicated the information on Economic violence, sexual violence, physical violence and psychological violence. In addition to that we conducted teachers’ orientation for schools in Thanjavur District.

Skill training program

There is a large number of students are found unemployed in  rural  area and they happened to adopt the traditional agricultural work for their livelihood sources. The agricultural resources are seasonable and hence these populations are living in utter poverty. There is no training institute for them to get alternative employment. Hence, we conduct the skill training to rural youth and women. The trade of Training we imparted are carpenter, diesel Mechanic and TV/Cell Phone repairing Training

Gender Perspective Workshop:

             In order  to change  the attitude  and post concept on women in Gender justice,  we  organized  evening  workshop for the SHG  women and  their counterpart i.e the Husbands at Grass root village level.   In the workshop the following topics were discussed. They are Gender biases and the community, Gender studies, Gender and sex, Caste – Class – Gender   inter linkages Gender impact and religion  and Gender and social  institution.
